Baked Asparagus

  • Serves: 2 as side dish


  • 50g Dragon butter
  • 2 slices Parma or smoked ham cut into thin strips
  • 1 bundle of asparagus (preferably thin stalks)
  • 2 heaped tablespoons grated Vintage cheddar
  • Black pepper and Balsamic glaze to taste


  1. Set oven to 200C or Gas 6
  2. Butter the base of a rectangular ovenproof dish
  3. Sprinkle in the strips of ham
  4. Arrange the trimmed asparagus stalks in the dish
  5. Sprinkle over the grated cheddar and bake for 15- 20 mins until asparagus is tender
  6. Drizzle over the balsamic glaze and grind over black pepper
  7. Serve immediately with some warm baguette
